I gotta lay off the mood music

(May 15th, 2008 - 9:57AM)

I've been enjoying the new Death Cab for Cutie Album, Narrow Stairs. It's a great album, but music like this tends to have a side effect on me: it makes me moody.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing, and I find it certainly helps me achieve flow at work. However, it also makes me feel morose and ponder my life goals. This isn't so good, as I'm way too cool for that emo shit.

And a realization just hit me: somewhere along the line I evolved into a loose leaf tea drinking, designer jeans wearing, organic food eating snob. How did this happen? Could it be the gradual shift from software "engineer" to software "designer?" Could it be the time spent working in Yaletown?

In any event, I'm too busy to worry about such things. I've got a major deadline coming up - I'm redesigning one of Vitrium's applications and want to have a first round prototype available for next week. I'm looking forward to posting more info about the redesign as it becomes public knowledge.
