No posts?

(September 29th, 2003)

Come on guys, leave me posts on the board. I didn't write those 20 lines of PHP for nothing! :)

And I KNOW people are coming to this site because I checked the usage, so don't gimme that crap about no visitors!

Grouse Grind

(September 28th, 2003)

Well, Tory Ross and I have resumed our weekly hike up Grouse Mountain (AKA the "Grouse Grind". Man, it was really hard today...

I clocked my worst time on the mountain EVER. So did Tory. It was mainly because of the heat...today was really scorching...it slows you down a lot. That was Tory's excuse. Mine was the dust...it seemed to be getting in my lungs and I almost gagged. Felt pretty sick. I'm still going up again next weekend, though!

Also, it's good to see that Google is finally Pageranking me. Up to a whopping Pagerank of one. Maybe I need more people to link to me. So get on it. ;)

Wednesday's Child

(September 25th, 2003)

I need to start updating this site more often.

Anyway, my boss has a punk-rocker friend, a guy named Ash, who has his own clothing line. His company's called Wednesday's Child.

My boss has decided that we should host this website as a friendly gesture to this guy, so I've spent the past while migrating a punk rocker's website over to our servers. It's been quite an experience.

Here is a link to the Wednesday's Child website. It's quite entertaining. Be sure to check out the photo gallery to see Ash and his girlfriend posing with their clothing line. Is it just me, or does Ash look suspiciously like James Marsters?

The man in black passes away

(September 17th, 2003)

Johnny CashThis is old news by now, but as you're all aware, The Man in Black, Johnny Cash, passed away recently. His contributions to the music world were huge, and he will be missed by all.

Before he passed away, Johnny Cash released one final album (American IV: The Man Comes Around). On this album, he recorded a phenomenal cover of Nine Inch Nails' poignant drug addiction song, Hurt (which is my favorite song). Cash took Hurt and gave it a very different meaning from what Trent Reznor intended, delivered with even more power than the original. Click this link to watch the video for Johnny Cash's rendition of Hurt.

Another day, another post

(September 9th, 2003)

Hey all, just sitting at work early in the morning writing an update. Getting a little bored with this boring single life. I need to go out and have some fun with pals. Maybe tonight.

Anyway, as far as work goes, I'm just finishing up a code generation tool called mBuilder (I'd provide a link, but there is none yet). This will allow the Joe Average MINISIS user to manipulate MINISIS applications. This probably means nothing to most visitors, but you can always check out my company website for more information.

I'm thinking of re-adding the Coding section I had on this page a while back, where I'd keep a bit of a journal of my thoughts as far as programming goes. Apparently, some people actually paid attention to what I wrote, so it might not be a bad idea. It'll also help bring in Google hits.

Just something to keep in mind. Don't be surprised if the Coding section appears on this page.

Stuff

(September 3rd, 2003)

Well, here I am, nothing really to report...

I managed to get the MINISIS Inc. website's pagerank up to 6, from its previous value of 5. Not sure if I'm the reason the rank went up, actually.

Anyway, if you haven't already, check out Terry Tate, Office Linebacker. Ryan Clark was kind enough to pass this on to me. It's absolutely hilarious. Are you still here? Go watch it!

PageRank

(September 1st, 2003)

Well guys, I'm finally started to get some hits.

If you take a look at my usage page, you'll notice that in May I got almost 10,000 hits (or about 200 unique visits). That's pretty good, in my opinion. (The front page results are a skewed because of the server migration I just did, but you can see the correct results by clicking on a monthly report.)

Now I'd like to actually establish a Google PageRank. So, I'd really appreciate it if you'd all link to me to boost my rating; I will of course link to you back.

I guess the best way to boost a PageRank is to provide useful information on your website that people are likely to find by searching on Google. I did this for MINISIS Inc. by posting some technical articles on the site; maybe the same needs to be done for this site too.

Any ideas on how to boost my ratings? Feel free to drop me a line or post a message on the board.

Additionally, it seems like I should details a list of updates that I've made. So here goes:

  • Added some news articles
  • Finished the Gallery section
  • Updated my Links page
  • Totally overhauled my People page
  • Added some recommendations
  • Put a picture of my head in the bottom right corner; you can't miss it.

Anyway, see ya later.

PNE & Updates

(September 1st, 2003)

I went to the PNE with my family and had a good time. Didn't go on any of the rides, but I got to see the sales boutiques and animals. Was a lot of fun, but I forgot to bring my camera. :(

Looking forward to a relaxing Labor Day (which is today...as of this writing it's 4:37AM). Hope you all have a great time as well. I might be going in to work if I'm bored enough.

I picked up a cool purple Cashmere sports jacket. Cost me a good deal of money. If you're planning on taking the West Coast Express to work this week, keep an eye out for me and maybe you'll get to check it out!

Major updates to the People section of this site! This will especially make Tong happy, because her write-up sucked and she was listed below my hamster (I doubt she appreciated that). Also added some new recommendations on the left-hand side of your window.

Was working on the photo gallery...unfortunately, it has to do with photo rendering and won't be that useful to visitors. Will hopefully have more frontends for the gallery up soon, but no guarantees.
